Emergence definition

An ice sheet is a vast, interconnected expanse of glacial ice that forms in space when ice, shaped by the forces of gravity and temperature, covers large land areas, such as those in Antarctica and Greenland, and is sustained by the continuous flow of ice from surrounding glaciers.
