Bolivia has declared a state of emergency in response to severe El Niño-induced flooding and landslides, per SANA.
The government reported that at least 20 communities have been cut off by floodwaters, with damage estimated at over $15 million, Bloomberg notes.
Emergency services are working to evacuate residents from affected areas including the highland regions around La Paz, where heavy rainfall has triggered mudslides.
