Uganda's inflation has surged to a three-year high, driven by currency devaluation, Reuters reports. The central bank is grappling with economic instability amid rising costs of living.

The Bank of Uganda raised its main interest rate in an effort to stabilize the shilling, galvnews.com notes. This move aims to curb further depreciation and control inflationary pressures.

In a separate development, a casino in Kampala reportedly blocked a $17,000 fraud attempt involving baccarat, focusgn.com reports. The incident highlights ongoing concerns over financial security in the region.
