The UN biodiversity conference COP17 concluded in Yerevan with a fragile agreement to boost conservation and funding for nature, per Climate Change News.

UNEP Executive Director's statement following the closing of COP17 emphasized the importance of financial reforms and subsidy incentives to support biodiversity, Bloomberg reports.

Conservation International highlighted that while the conference put forth a clearer picture of the biodiversity crisis, it fell short on ambition to solve it, per WCS Newsroom.

Armenia's role as host city showcased its commitment to environmental action, though challenges remain in implementing the agreed measures, English.news.cn notes.
