Bhutan has completed the construction of 108 Buddhist stupas in record time, dedicating one to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, per The Hindu.
The massive undertaking was carried out in just nine hours, with thousands of participants from across Bhutan and India joining the event in Gelephu, Bloomberg reports.
The stupas are part of a nationwide initiative to promote mindfulness and spiritual well-being, as outlined by the Royal Government of Bhutan, The Daily Star notes.
This effort is part of a broader cultural and diplomatic outreach between Bhutan and India, with the event being seen as a symbol of strengthened bilateral ties.
