Measles Outbreak and Shooting Incident
Belize has recorded 19 measles cases so far this year, per Jamaica Gleaner. Health officials are urging residents to get vaccinated as the disease spreads in the capital.
In a separate incident, a 19-year-old woman was injured after gunmen opened fire on her apartment door in Belmopan, Breaking Belize News reports. The attack reportedly stemmed from a dispute involving a paralyzed street figure.
Meanwhile, protests are planned in Belmopan over rising living costs and corruption, Love FM notes. Organizers say the demonstrations reflect public frustration with economic conditions.
