The Sun sits below the horizon over South America, casting Earth's northern pole into darkness. This positions the Arctic region in complete night as the terminator moves across the globe.

High cirrus clouds blanket the polar regions, creating a delicate veil across the frozen landscape. The jet stream's influence is muted at this latitude, leaving the upper atmosphere relatively calm.

Aurora activity is visible along the polar cap, dancing with green and purple lights as solar wind interacts with Earth's magnetic field. The Moon phase is waning crescent, appearing in the western sky.
