Canberra has officially brought online a 500 MWh Tesla Megapack energy storage system, per the Canberra Times. The $150 million facility is part of Australia's efforts to bolster grid stability with large-scale renewable energy storage.

The new battery project, detailed by BaseNor, is set to support the region's transition toward cleaner energy sources and reduce reliance on fossil fuels during peak demand periods. It represents a significant step in Australia’s national energy infrastructure modernization.

Meanwhile, political tensions simmer as three ambassadors' wives resigned from a women's club over the wife of a Russian envoy, according to SMH reports. The incident underscores growing diplomatic friction amid Canberra's stance on international relations.

Flight TVZ is currently climbing out of Canberra at 6,900 ft, heading southwest, per live aviation data.
