A 12-year-old boy died in a fire that destroyed 30 homes in Tawau, per Daily Express. The blaze occurred this morning, with residents evacuating nearby properties.

Local officials confirmed the incident as a tragic accident, though investigations into the cause are ongoing. The fire has left dozens homeless and prompted emergency response teams to assist victims.

Malaysia's geo-political challenges continue to hinder progress in renewable energy projects like geothermal development, as noted by Eurasia Review. The country remains dependent on fossil fuels despite climate commitments.
