Per omct.org, defender Aboulaye Goma has been released following his arrest in Lomé. The release follows pressure from civil society groups and international observers.

The MMLK (Movement for the Liberation of the People) is demanding a reprieve until January due to planned evictions in Grand Lomé, as noted by beninwebtv.com. The group has called for a suspension of forced removals.

Lomé has also become a focal point for regional political dynamics, with reports from modernghana.com suggesting it's emerging as a new Atlantic gateway for Russian influence in West Africa.
