Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong has been sentenced to 10 years in prison on national security charges, per Reuters. The ruling follows his conviction for leading pro-democracy protests that challenged Beijing's authority.

International condemnation followed the verdict, with the UK and US denouncing the sentence as 'cruel,' as reported by The Guardian. Wong's imprisonment underscores growing tensions between Hong Kong's autonomy and Chinese state control.
