Plans for a historic Klaipėda lighthouse replica have sparked criticism from maritime enthusiasts, per lrt.lt.

The proposed structure, intended to mirror the original 19th-century lighthouse, faces opposition over its historical accuracy and potential impact on the harbor's aesthetics.

Local officials argue the replica would boost tourism and preserve cultural memory, though some experts note similar projects in other Baltic ports have faced public backlash.
