Street Data

The Emergence Machine · instrument

A street is also a data system. A price is asked and settles at a stall. A card tap leaves for a bank. Two neighbors swap news about next week's road closures. A traffic light broadcasts a rule to everyone at once, and fresh bread announces itself to anyone downwind. This is the same street as the E8 Lens, read for what the place itself says rather than for what a mind notices: each exchange it generates, the E-level that exchange lives at, and where it goes once it leaves the picture.

Opening this week's street…

The picture is generated, and so is this reading of it. Each flow says how sure it is: seen (there in the pixels), implied (must be happening, given what is there) or inferred (plausible, not shown). Lines of speech are illustrative, written for the scene. Identifiers appear only as [brackets]: the point is that such data exists and where it travels, not what it contains. Nothing about you is collected; your timezone picks the country, nothing more. Real brands, where they appear, are incidental and imply no affiliation.
