The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972)

In Luis Buñuel’s deliciously satiric masterpiece, an upper-class sextet sits down to dinner but never eats, their attempts continually thwarted by a vaudevillian mixture of events both actual and imagined.

The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie keeps every mind human — it fights its subject at zero distance. The story fights on E9/E10 of the E0–E14 reality ladder, compressing class, power, authority, bureaucracy.
